ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the feasibility and application value of intraoperative direct immunohistochemical (IHC) staining in improving the diagnosis accuracy in difficult cases of bronchiolar adenoma (BA). Methods: Nineteen cases with single or multiple pulmonary ground-glass nodules or solid nodules indicated by imaging in Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January to July 2021 and with difficulty in differential diagnosis at frozen HE sections were selected. In the experimental group, direct IHC staining of cytokeratin 5/6 (CK5/6) and p63 was performed on frozen sections to assist the differentiation of BA from in situ/micro-invasive adenocarcinoma/adenocarcinoma/invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma. In the control group, two pathologists performed routine frozen HE section diagnosis on these 19 cases. The diagnostic results of paraffin sections were used as the gold standard. The sensitivity and specificity of BA diagnosis, consistency with paraffin diagnosis and time used for frozen diagnosis were compared between the experimental group and the control group. Results: The basal cells of BA were highlighted by CK5/6 and p63 staining. There were no basal cells in the in situ/microinvasive adenocarcinoma/adenocarcinoma/invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma. In the experimental group, the sensitivity and specificity with aid of direct IHC staining for BA were 100% and 86.7%, respectively, and the Kappa value of frozen and paraffin diagnosis was 0.732, and these were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The average time consumption in the experimental group (32.4 min) was only 7 min longer than that in the control group (25.4 min). Conclusions: Direct IHC staining can improve the accuracy of BA diagnosis intraoperatively and reduce the risk of misdiagnosis, but require significantly longer time. Thus frozen direct IHC staining should be restricted to cases with difficulty in differentiating benign from malignant diseases, especially when the surgical modalities differ based on the frozen diagnosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To analyze clinicopathological features of circumferential superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and precancerous lesions and investigate the risk factors for deep submucosal invasion and angiolymphatic invasion retrospectively. Methods: A total of 116 cases of esophageal squamous epithelial high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia or squamous cell carcinoma diagnosed by gastroscopy, biopsy pathology and endoscopic resection pathology during November 2013 to October 2021 were collected, and their clinicopathological features were analyzed. The independent risk factors of deep submucosal invasion and angiolymphatic invasion were analyzed by logistic regression model. Results: The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that drinking history (OR=3.090, 95% CI: 1.165-8.200; P<0.05), The AB type of intrapapillary capillary loop (IPCL) (OR=11.215, 95% CI: 3.955-31.797; P<0.05) were the independent risk factors for the depth of invasion. The smoking history (OR=5.824, 95% CI: 1.704-19.899; P<0.05), the presence of avascular area (AVA) (OR=3.393, 95% CI: 1.285-12.072; P<0.05) were the independent factors for the angiolymphatic invasion. Conclusions: The risk of deep submucosal infiltration is greater for circumferential superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients with drinking history and IPCL type B2-B3 observed by magnifying endoscopy, while the risk of angiolymphatic invasion should be vigilant for circumferential superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients with smoking history and the presence of AVA observed by magnifying endoscopy. Ultrasound endoscopy combined with narrowband imagingand magnification endoscopy can improve the accuracy of preoperative assessment of the depth of infiltration of superficial squamous cell carcinoma and precancerous lesions and angiolymphaticinvasion in the whole perimeter of the esophagus, and help endoscopists to reasonably grasp the indications for endoscopic treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To describe the symptom experience of patients with cirrhosis, and explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy between symptom experience and quality of life.Methods:A total of 197 inpatients with liver cirrhosis from June 2020 to February 2021 in Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine were recruited in this study by convenient sampling method. Symptom experience, quality of life and self-efficacy were assessed by Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale, Chronic Liver Disease Questionnaire and Self-efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease. The correlation among the three was analyzed and a structural equation model was constructed to evaluate the mediating effect of self-efficacy on symptom experience and quality of life.Results:The total score of symptom experience, quality of life and self-efficacy were (0.79±0.34), (32.51±5.96), (5.10±1.33). Symptom experience was significantly negatively correlated with self-efficacy and quality of life( r=-0.343, -0.763, both P<0.01). Self-efficacy was significantly positively correlated with quality of life( r=0.347, P<0.01). Symptom experience significantly negatively affected quality of life through self-efficacy ( β=-0.036, P=0.045). The total effect of symptom experience on quality of life was composed of direct effect ( β=-0.727, P<0.001) and indirect effect ( β=-0.036, P=0.045). Conclusions:Self-efficacy has a mediating effect between symptom experience and quality of life in patients with liver cirrhosis, which can improve symptom experience and reduce the negative impact of symptoms on quality of life by improving self-efficacy.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of focused ultrasound ablation surgery (FUAS) combined with suction curettage for mass-type cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) and to analyze the influencing factors of vaginal bleeding and readmission.Methods:From January 2014 to December 2020, 88 patients with mass-type CSP were treated by FUAS combined with suction curettage in the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. The clinical results and the influencing factors of bleeding and readmission for mass-type CSP were analyzed.Results:All the patients underwent one time FUAS treatment successfully. Immediately after FUAS treatment, color Doppler ultrasound showed obvious necrosis and no perfusion area in all lesions, and the blood flow in the mass-type CSP tissue significantly decreased. The median volume of blood loss in the procedure was 20 ml (range: 5-950 ml). Thirteen patients (15%, 13/88) had vaginal bleeding≥200 ml, and 15 patients (17%, 15/88) were hospitalized again. The average time for menstruation recovery was (28±8) days (range: 18-66 days). The average time needed for serum human chorionic gonadotropin-beta subunit to return to normal levels was (22±6) days (range: 7-59 days). The risk of large vaginal bleeding of patients were related to the blood supply of the mass ( OR=5.280, 95% CI: 1.335-20.858, P=0.018) and the largest diameter of the mass ( OR=1.060, 95% CI: 1.010-1.120, P=0.030). The risk of readmission were related to the largest diameter of the mass ( OR=1.055, 95% CI: 1.005-1.108, P=0.030) and the depth of the uterus cavity ( OR=1.583, 95% CI: 1.015-2.471, P=0.043). No serious complications such as intestinal and nerve injury occurred during and after FUAS treatment. Conclusions:FUAS combined with suction curettage is safe and effective in treating patients with mass-type CSP through this preliminary study. The volume of vaginal bleeding are associated with the blood supply of the mass and the largest diameter of the mass, the risk of readmission are related to the largest diameter of the mass and the depth of the uterus cavity.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the pathological characteristics and clinical prognosis of nodular sclerosis grade 2 of classic Hodgkin's lymphoma (cHL-NS2) in our cancer center. Methods: A retrospective collection of 23 cases of cHL-NS2 admitted in Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College from July 2008 to April 2019 was performed. Fifty-five cases of nodular sclerosis grade 1 of classical Hodgkin's lymphoma (cHL-NS1) during the same period were selected as control group. Survival curves were plotted using the Kaplan-Meier method, and Cox regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors for survival. Results: The median age of 23 cases of cHL-NS2 was 30 years old. Five cases had extra nodal invasion, and 19 cases were Ⅰ-Ⅱ stage based on Ann Arbor system. The pathological morphology of cHL-NS2 showed that the lymph node structure was completely destroyed and was divided into nodules by thick collagen. The tumor cells in the nodules were abundant and proliferated in sheets. The boundaries between the tumor cells were not clear. The incidence of tumor necrosis in cHL-NS2 was 43.5% (10/23), which was significantly higher than 18.2% (10/55) in cHL-NS1 (P=0.040). The 3-year progression-free survival (PFS) rate of patients in the cHL-NS2 group was 58.1%, which was significantly lower than 89.7% in the cHL-NS1 group (P=0.002). In all of 78 cases, the 3-year PFS rate of patients who did not obtain complete response (CR) was 67.1%, which was significantly lower than 92.2% in patients who achieved CR (P=0.030). Multivariate Cox regression analysis demonstrated that both cHL-NS2 and failure to obtain CR by first-line treatment were independent indicators for short PFS time (P<0.05). Conclusions: In cHL-NS2, the morphology of tumor cells are diverse, and tumor necrosis can be easily found. Under the current first-line treatments of doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine (ABVD) or bleomycin, etoposide, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, procarbazine, and prednisone (BEACOPP), cHL-NS2 is an independent indicator for worse PFS.

ABSTRACT

As one of the main causes of low vision and blindness in the world, high myopia has become increasingly serious and caused heavy economic and social burden.However, its pathogenesis is complex and has not been fully clarified yet.In recent years, with the continuous progress of biological technology, proteomic technology has been used to find differentially expressed functional proteins in animal models and tissues of high myopic patients in order to obtain specific biological markers related to high myopia, and to provide new insights for exploring the pathogenesis, diagnosis methods and treatment of high myopia.In this article, the clinical characteristics of high myopia, the research content and strategies of proteomics, the research progress of proteomics in high myopia studying eye tissues of model animals and the blood, lens and aqueous humor of patients were reviewed, the outstanding advantages and achievements of proteomic technology in the study of high myopia were analyzed, and the pathological mechanism of high myopia was explored from the perspective of functional proteins, which would provide a theoretical basis for the development of specific molecular drugs with therapeutic value.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To characterize proteomic profile in aqueous humor of patients with high myopia using quantitative proteomic analysis.Methods:Sixty-eight age-related cataract patients were divided into high myopic cataract group and simple cataract group according to that they had high myopia or not, with 34 patients (34 eyes) in each group.Aqueous humor samples (100 μl/patient) were collected from each patient using a 1 ml tuberculin syringe during cataract surgery at Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital from January 2019 to August 2019.Sixteen samples from each group were selected for protein quantification and comparison by BCA method.The differentially expressed proteins between the two groups were analyzed using label-free liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry.The function and signal transduction pathways of differentially expressed proteins were further analyzed by Gene Ontology enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes.Eighteen aqueous humor samples from each group were selected to verify the results of mass spectrometry by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). This study protocol adhered to the Declaration of Helsinki.The use of human samples was approved by an Ethics Committee of Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital (No.2020KY[L]-40). Written informed consent was obtained from each patient prior to surgery.Results:The mean protein mass concentration of aqueous humor sample in the high myopic cataract group was (1 134.91±104.78) ng/L, which was significantly higher than that in the simple cataract group (706.71±85.43) ng/L, showing statistically significant difference ( t=11.977, P<0.01). A total of 463 proteins were identified and 86 proteins were found to be differentially expressed, including 49 up-regulated proteins and 37 down-regulated proteins in the two groups.These differentially expressed proteins were mainly protein-binding activity modulator, extracellular matrix protein, carrier protein, intercellular signal molecule, protein modifying enzyme and so on, accounting for 32.70%, 14.50%, 9.10%, 9.10% and 7.30%, respectively.Bioinformatics analysis showed that 86 differentially expressed proteins were mainly related to biological processes such as complement activation and regulation, acute inflammatory response, and extracellular matrix tissue remodeling.Among them, 21 differentially expressed proteins were enriched in the complement and coagulation cascades pathways, 15 in the extracellular matrix-receptor interaction pathway, and 8 in the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway.ELISA results showed that the expression trends of three randomly selected differentially expressed proteins of the two groups were consistent with the results of label-free quantitative proteomic analysis. Conclusions:There are significant changes in proteomic profiles of aqueous humor between the high myopia cataract patients and simple cataract patients.High myopia is closely associated with inflammation and immune interactions, and remodeling of extracellular matrix.

ABSTRACT

Dehydration-responsive element binding proteins (DREBs) are an important class of transcription factors related to plant stress tolerance. Ammopiptanthus mongolicus is an evergreen broadleaf shrub endemic to desert areas of northwest China, and it has a very high tolerance to harsh environments. In order to reveal the functions and mechanisms of the AmDREB1F gene from this species in enduring abiotic stresses, we performed subcellular localization test, expression pattern analysis, and stress tolerance evaluation of transgenic Arabidopsis harboring this gene. The protein encoded by AmDREB1F was localized in the nucleus. In laboratory-cultured A. mongolicus seedlings, the expression of AmDREB1F was induced significantly by cold and drought but very slightly by salt and heat stresses, and undetectable upon ABA treatment. In leaves of naturally growing shrubs in the wild, the expression levels of the AmDREB1F gene were much higher during the late autumn, winter and early spring than in other seasons. Moreover, the expression was abundant in roots and immature pods rather than other organs of the shrubs. Constitutive expression of AmDREB1F in Arabidopsis induced the expression of several DREB-regulated stress-responsive genes and improved the tolerance of transgenic lines to drought, high salinity and low temperature as well as oxidative stress. The constitutive expression also caused growth retardation of the transgenics, which could be eliminated by the application of gibberellin 3. Stress-inducible expression of AmDREB1F also enhanced the tolerance of transgenic Arabidopsis to all of the four stresses mentioned above, without affecting its growth and development. These results suggest that AmDREB1F gene may play positive regulatory roles in response to abiotic stresses through the ABA-independent signaling pathways.

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the indentification method of samples mistyped as O phenotype and to explore the precision transfusion strategy.@*METHODS@#The blood samples from donors and patients admitted in our center from 2018 to 2019 was collected. The samples with O phenotype suspected subtypes were further determined by tube test, adsorption-elution test, etc. Molecular testing was used to sequence the related blood type genes of the subjects.@*RESULTS@#Among 14 subjects misjudged as O, 11 different genotypes were identified, in which 3 blood donors were Ael02/O02, Bel03/O02, and one para-Bombay with B101/O02 (FUT1: h3h3; FUT2: Se@*CONCLUSION@#The phenotypes of Ael, Bel, Aw and para-Bombay subtypes are easily misjudged as type O. Molecular technology is helpful to identify the genotype of subtypes, and the corresponding transfusion strategies could be reasonably performed.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the preoperative frailty of inpatient elderly surgery patients and explore its risk factors.Methods:A sample of 200 inpatient elderly surgery patients in a tertiary Class A hospital in Shandong Province from February to May 2019 were selected and surveyed using general condition questionnaire, elderly comprehensive assessment questionnaire and FRAIL scale.Results:Among the participants, 75 were identified with frailty and the prevalence of frailty were 37.5%. The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that aging, low income, decreased activity of daily living, depression, malnutrition, cognitive impairment, poor self-rated health was the risk factor of preoperative frailty in inpatient elderly surgery patients( P<0.05). Conclusions:The incidence of preoperative frailty in inpatient elderly surgery patients is relatively high, so it is necessary to establish the preoperative frailty assessment and intervention mechanism for inpatient elderly surgery patients from multiple fields and dimensions.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the relationship between hypertension with hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy) and early neurological deterioration (END) in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage.Methods:Patients with acute intracerebral hemorrhage admitted to the Department of Neurology, the First People's Hospital of Huainan from January 2017 to December 2018 were enrolled prospectively. END was defined as the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score increased by ≥4 or Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score decreased by ≥2 at any time within 72 h after onset from baseline. The baseline data of the END and non-END groups were compared, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was use to evaluate the independent risk factors for END. Results:A total of 238 patients with acute intracerebral hemorrhage were enrolled, and 64 of them (26.9%) developed END. The baseline hematoma volume, NIHSS score, blood glucose, homocysteine level, neutrophil count, and the proportion of hypertension, hemorrhage into ventricle and hematoma enlargement in the END group were significantly higher than those in the non-END group, while the baseline GCS score was significantly lower than that in the non-END group (all P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting for the confounding factors, the baseline hematoma volume (odds ratio [ OR] 1.086, 95% confidence interval [ CI] 1.029-1.146; P=0.003), baseline GCS score ( OR 0.420, 95% CI 0.245-0.719; P=0.002) and hypertension with HHcy ( OR 2.441, 95% CI 1.185-5.029; P=0.016) had significant independent correlation with END. Conclusion:Hypertension with HHcy is an independent predictor of END in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage.

OBJECTIVES@#To assess short-term functional outcomes achieved by robot-assisted sacrocolpopexy for pelvic organ prolapse.@*METHODS@#We retrospectively collected clinical and operative data for female patients who underwent either pure laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (a control group, =20) or robot-assisted laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (a study group, =20) between December 2017 and December 2018. The clinical indicators included age, gestational age, parity, the stage of pelvic organ prolapse. Perioperative data included operative time and total blood loss. Post-operative outcomes included hospital stay, the time of detaining urethral catheterization, and the restart of anal exhaust after surgery. At the same time, complications and quality of life were observed till 6 months after the surgery.@*RESULTS@#There were no definitely differences in the perioperative data between the 2 groups. It is worth mentioning that robot-assisted laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy was superior in strict operative time. With a follow-up of 6 months, the study group's anatomic repair rate was 100% (20/20), while the control group was 95% (19/20). Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-short Form 20 (PFDI-20) and Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaire-short Form 7 (PFIQ-7) were used to evaluate patients' quality of life. There was no significant difference in the scores between the study group and the control group before and 6 months after surgery. Only the data of the PFDI-20 questionnaires at 1 month after operation were statistically significant, and in the control group was larger than that in the study group, showing that robotic surgery can recover faster than laparoscopy, and the quality of life can be improved quickly.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Robot-assisted laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy is a safe and reliable technique, faster than laparoscopy in recovery and has a short-term effect.

Objective: To elucidate the rationality of integrated processing technology of Leonuri Herba based on comparison of chemical constituents and pharmacological effect of Leonuri Herba between traditional and integrated processing technology. Method:The contents of stachydrine hydrochloride,leonurine hydrochloride,rutin,hyperoside and isoquercetin were used as indexes to compare the differences in the contents of chemical constituents between traditional and integration processing technology of Leonuri Herba.Effect of Leonuri Herba with different processing technology on auricular swelling induced by dimethylbenzene in mice were observed to compared the differences of their anti-inflammatory effect.And rat acute blood stasis model was used to compare the differences of Leonuri Herba with different processing technology on hemorheology and blood coagulation indexes. Result:Contents of stachydrine hydrochloride,leonurine hydrochloride,rutin,hyperoside and isoquercetin in products of integrated processing were 1.558%,0.168%,0.137%,0.113% and 0.078%,they were 1.482%,0.134%,0.125%,0.082% and 0.071% in products of traditional processing,respectively.Both of the processing methods could reduce the degree of swelling and the contents of tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6 in mouse serum.And both of the processing methods could reduce the whole blood viscosity,prolong the thrombin time(TT),prothrombin time(PT),activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT) and reduce the concentration of plasma fibrinogen(FIB) in acute blood stasis model rats. Conclusion:Compared with the traditional processing technology,the integrated processing technology is better in guaranteeing the quality of Leonuri Herba decoction pieces and reducing the production cost,which indicates that the integrated processing of Leonuri Herba is reasonable.

OBJECTIVE@#To estimate the size of HLA -Ⅰ class typed platelet apheresis donor bank.@*METHODS@#A total of 16062 blood samples from Chinese Han voluntary unrelated marrow donors in Jiangsu were included in this study. Luminex-SSO was used to detect the HLA -Ⅰ class(A,B locus) antigens. The probability of finding at least one HLA matched unrelated donor was calculated based on the HLA -I class phenotype frequency.@*RESULTS@#The population genetic data of HLA -Ⅰ class in Jiangsu were obtained, the optinal bans size in HLA typed apheresis plateler donor registry databane hrad been estimated by evaluating the population genetic data of HLA-1 class same donor.@*CONCLUSION@#The establishment of HLA-1 class typed apheresis platelet donor bank with a total size of 1500 persons is acceptable, which can satisty the patients with phenotype freguency>0.002 to find at least 1 phenotype same donor in 95% probavility.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the vaginal microecology of the patients in the outpatient department of Obstetrics and gynecology in China.Methods A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted in gynecologic clinic of 9 collaborative hospitals in China.200 consecutive patients were collected in each hospital and their vaginal microecology combined with related factors were analyzed.Results A total of 2 093 specimens were collected in this study.The detection rate of Trichomonas was 5.5%(115/2 093). The detection rate of Candida mycelia was 15.9%(333/2 093), with germinal spores was 4.1%(86/2093).The detection rate of bacterial vaginosis was 18.8%(394/2 093).The distribution results of vaginal flora in patients showed that the normal flora accounted for only 27.3%(571/2 093).The normal flora with the insufficiency of H2O2 accounted for 23%(480/2 093).The bacteria inhibiting flora accounted for 3.8%(79/2 093).The abnormal microflora(non BV type)accounted for 14.9%(312/2 093).The abnormal microflora(BV intermediate type)accounted for 13.4%(280/2 093).The abnormal microflora(BV type)accounted for 17.6%(369/2 093).The average pH of vaginal discharge was 4.58 ±0.495.There was no significant difference of the incidence of trichomonas and bacterial vaginosis between north and south of the Yangtze river, while the detection rate of fungal hyphae and the fungal spores is significantly higher in the south than that in the north.The analysis results of factors affecting the microecology showed that age and contraception methods were two important factors.The patients′age from bacteria inhibition group was 49.64 +16.68 which was significantly higher than that of the other microecology groups.The proportion of abnormal microflora of patients from the oral contraceptive group was 40%(20/50).The proportion of abnormal microflora of patients from IUD group was 36.6%(63/172).Compared with these two contraception methods, the proportion of abnormal microflora of patients from condoms usage group was 27.8%(91/327)which was significantly lower.The incidence of abnormal leucorrhea in the normal group was 37.7%, which was significantly lower than that of other abnormal groups.Conclusion This study showed the vaginal microecology status of the Chinese outpatient ′s clinic and found that the vagina microecology was related to age, region and contraceptive methods.The typical manifestation of microecological abnormality is the increase of leucorrhea.(Chin J Lab Med,2018, 41:287-291)

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the role of interleukin-22 (IL-22)-regulated autophagy in hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2 )-induced hepatocarcinoma cell damage. Methods HepG2 cells were transfected with pEGFP-LC3 and then cultured in RPMI 1640 medium free of fetal bovine serum (FBS) or containing 1% or 10% FBS. These cells were pretreated with rapamycin or an autophagy inhibitor (3-MA) and then stimulated with recombinat human IL-22 (rhIL-22). GFP-LC3 puncta formation and autophagy signaling ac-tivation were measured. MTT assay was performed to detect cell viability. Results rhIL-22 significantly promoted GFP-LC3 puncta formation and LC3-Ⅱ expression in HepG2 cells treated with different stimulation protocols. The autophagy pathway inhibitor, 3-MA, dramatically suppressed the rhIL-22-activated autophagy signals. rhIL-22 attenuated H2 O2-mediated HepG2 cell death and that could be inhibited by 3-MA. Conclu-sion IL-22 promoted the activation of autophagy signaling pathways and alleviated H2 O2-mediated HepG2 cell damage.

ABSTRACT

Coronary artery spasm(CAS)is a hyper-contraction of segmental coronary artery in response to multiple stimuli. At present, it's still in lack of specific diagnostic indicators of sudden cardiac death caused by CAS. This review summarizes current researches on the mechanisms of CAS and describes the roles of vascular endothelial dysfunction and vascular smooth muscle hypersensitivity in the course of CAS. Furthermore, the molecular mechanisms of the endogenous NO and endothelin-1 cause vascular endothelial dysfunction, and the phosphorylation of MLC2, Rho kinase and endoplasmic reticulum stress related to vascular smooth muscle hypersensitivity are discussed. Meanwhile, the possibility of forensic application for the related molecules on the diagnosis of sudden cardiac death caused by CAS are also explored.

ABSTRACT

Hydrogel nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by precipitation polymerization method with N-isopropyl acrylamide (NIPAm), acrylic acid (Aac), N-tert butyl acrylamide (tBAM) and N,N'-methylene bisacrylamide(Bis) as thermosensitive monomer,negative monomer,hydrophobic monomer and crosslinker, respectively. The morphology of the resulting NPs was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and the size and the particle size distribution were investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The dynamics test was also carried out to investigate adsorption property of NPs. The results showed that NPs was spherical with uniform particle size and narrow distribution. NPs had the best adsorption performance to lysozyme when the monomer molar ratio was optimized to Aac 20%,tBAM 40%,NIPAm 38% and Bis 2%. Meanwhile, when the particle size of NPs decreased from 386. 20 nm to 77. 25 nm, the adsorption capacity increased gradually. The adsorption rate could reach up to 67.8% within 5 minutes. The thermosensitive of NPs provided a new candidate for the adsorption and separation of lysozyme with good reusability.

ABSTRACT

We reported a case of giant solitary fibrous tumor of vagina and reviewed literature. The clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment schemes for the disease were summarized to improve the understanding of the disease. An elder female patient came to the Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, because of abdominal distention and pain for 5 days after menopause for 9 years. The patient was diagnosed as a solitary fibrous tumor of vagina by pathology and immunohistochemistry after complete resection. The tumor size of the patient was the largest according to reported literature, and the tumor recurred 10 months after surgery. The strong positive expression of CD34 and high Ki-67 proliferation index in tumor immunohistochemistry indicate that the prognosis of patients will be poor.
